ClassesWhat do you think about taking simulations of international tests in class? This is something that is not considered in the official program, but it is something that's important for students to have an equal or, at least, similar proficiency in the language when graduating.
Also, what do you think about the video watching in class?

ReplyDeleteI think it is very useful for us these kind of simulations, because when we take a similar test we are going to feel more confident because it isn't going to be the first time we see this kind of test.Moreover it's a good way to improve our skills.
About the video, I think It was a very useful experience, I mean It was very attractive, interesting and this kind of visual aid call the attention quickly because it is a video a not a boring sheet of paper.

ReplyDeleteI think about taking simulations of international test in class that is a good instance to practice the English idiom, because it helps us in our training, and to know the level we have, and also to begin to work as much as a weaknesses of each. I think that the practice of this test should have been more frequent, maybe this was not because it was not formally considered in the program, it would be very good if the new generations have the opportunity to practice with more frequency, so this way have better preparation.
Now, in relation to the video watching in class, I think it's an entertaining way to learn, always watching a video helps to develop the listening skill of which has not been so frequent during the program.

I like very much all kind of new experiences in relation to english classes. I prefer the videos because they approach us to the real world of the natives of english language.
ReplyDeleteIt could be very interesting to project us to the future and visualize a way to continue learning english without a teacher. Next year we will be alone in this task. Videos could be useful?
I think that all kind of international tests are really necessary to improve our english because we can practice our skills : Listening, reading,speaking and writing and also, we can know our level.

At the beginning I used to feel afraid for this "tests", But It's look like that this kind of activies will improve our level more than the usual classes, because I suppose that we will start to study at home and refresh our memory in order to don't become as the dumbass of the Class ;)

It is very useful because we can have a certain idea of our level of english and improve it of course! We can see our weakness in certain items practice and be a good teacher of english not a simple one.

ReplyDeletePersonally, I don't think that to apply those tests in us would be a bad idea; moreover, we have the possibility to have an English test as important as PSU. (you know... with "proficiency" and all that stuff...) However, I also trust that Languages in general are a little bit subjective to be evaluated in terms in how to say something correctly, and accurately. (Even professor Campusano made mistakes to explain Spanish and he is a professor. You see?)

ReplyDeleteI think is a bit concerning the fact that this kind of activities (taking simulations of international tests) are not considered in the program when we are supossed being formed to be teachers in a world in process of globalisation, and in that case, and actually in any case we have to reach an excellent level of English to call us ourselves teachers in the whole sense of the word. On the other hand we have the matter of watching videos, wich I consider a very useful tool to improve our level, because we can do different kind of activities from a video like write essays, a debate, a discussion, etc..

Despite i consider the lever way to low for senior students, at least taking this "exams" make everything a bit more interesting, in a way it take us a step closer to "the real Enlish". And i agee with Esmeralda that it should be something considered in the pogram...

ReplyDeleteWell, if I have to be honest, I should say that I really don’t give a damn about what is or not in the official program…I think that although the book is a good tool to learn and practice English, it doesn’t enable us to know what our real English´s level is. I just may say that I am really sorry about not to take this kind of tests since our first year in university. But it is never too late…
Now, regarding to videos, I think that it is a great experience and opportunity to listen real English and throw that we can notice how much we can get from them.

I believe there is a usefulexperience, because this kind of test have a special way to response and develop, nevertheless I believe we are moving too slow , because we already know how to work those test

The advance about take simulations of international test in class is that we can improve because it becomes easier, I think.
About the official program we must know that we are in lengua 4 so everything that we learn in class is important and I think that through this way we learn.
The video that we watched in class I think it was very interesting because is a good strategy to learn faster.
It is active learning we take part at the same time that we learn.
